Family of four seeks firm’s help with toxic mold
case in Mississippi
A family of four sought the legal help of our attorneys after being exposed to
toxic mold in their Mississippi rental home. The family believes the owner, the
real estate agent, and others failed to inform them about and repair defects in
the home’s ventilation system, thereby causing toxic mold to grow throughout the
home. As a result, the entire family now suffers from sinusitis and other
serious upper respiratory health problems. It is also believed that, as a result
of their exposure, the family’s two children have suffered brain damage. For

Mississippi woman sues for toxic mold-related
health problems
With help from our firm, a woman has filed suit against her home insurance
provider, her real estate agent, and others for failure to properly investigate
the claim that toxic mold was growing in her Mississippi home. The woman
contends that, at the time of the home’s sale, extensive mold damage and
significant defects in the heating and ventilation system were intentionally not
disclosed. As a result, she developed a number of health-related side effects,
including fungal syndrome, sinusitis, and other upper respiratory problems. It
is believed that the cost to repair the home’s structural problems and remove
the mold will exceed the property’s value.

Manufacturers of silica could be held responsible
Nearly 100 manufacturers of silica-related supplies are being sued for their
failure to protect workers from inhaling dust particles. Some of the
manufacturers allegedly sold poorly made masks to workers, thereby increasing
their chances for exposure to silica-related products and materials. Others
allegedly sold bagged quantities of silica that either featured a weak warning
about health risks or no warning at all. According to the suit, both groups also
entered into a conspiracy to conceal information about the dangers of using
silica-related products and attempted to stop silica-related federal legislation
from becoming law.

Last minute asbestos suits widen legal attacks
This article covers a new legal strategy put into practice by the Law Offices of
Luckey & Mullins on behalf of its clients. The firm’s goal is to hold the makers
of plastic related industrial products that contain asbestos responsible for
workplace-related health problems. Asbestos, which has been linked to lung
disease as well as cancer, is widely used in insulation, drywall, and other
construction materials. Recently, it has also been linked to the plastics used
to make industrial equipment. The Mississippi asbestos attorneys at The Law
Offices of Alwyn Luckey believe the asbestos found in these products is
detrimental to employees’ health, and therefore, the companies manufacturing
these products should be held responsible. To learn more about this legal
strategy and the related case, contact us.
